Audrey's Purple Dream

Audrey Pidde didn’t start out as a superhero. She was just one of us, part of a community that loves living with the rigors of the North country, and values the virtue of neighbors helping neighbors. Then in 2005, she faced cancer with no more than the dream of a trip to Alaska. Her heroic battle inspired this small community to raise $10,000 to help. Audrey passed before Alaska was possible. Yet, she knew that her bills were paid and much more importantly, that she was loved.
Audrey’s great legacy is that each year in her honor we remind ourselves that neighbors helping neighbors IS the power of community. We fundraise with events, raffles, and with the help of many neighbors and strangers we are able to improve the lives of those with cancer. Audrey lives on through the community she inspired—because of you. Thank you for helping, thank you for caring, thank you for recognizing the power of community.
